Register for the Fox Chasing 101 Clinic single sessions, or full clinic (4 sessions). The clinics will be held every Saturday in September. You must wear a ASTM certified helmet, closed toed boots, and present a negative coggins. You also must sign a liability waiver before the clinic.

Join our club for the annual Fox Chasing 101 Clinic. Fox Chasing 101 is a welcoming and low-pressure way to learn all about the tradition and excitement of our sport. Whether you are a junior rider, an adult new to the sport, or have a green horse ready for a new challenge, this clinic is the perfect place to start.
Over the course of four sessions held every Saturday in September, participants will gain hands-on experience. Those who complete all 4 sessions will receive a cap certificate, which is your invitation to join us for one real hunt in October.
Even better – if you decide to join the Wicomico Hunt Club, your clinic fees will be applied toward your first year’s membership dues. Come learn and experience the thrill of riding to hounds in a supportive, educational environment!
This year, we will be changing up the educational format. Instead of covering one topic each week after we ride, you will be assiged a mentor who will help explain things as they are happening in real-time.When you arrive to check in, you will recieve a check list of all of the important topics and you can learn at your own pace.

Schedule Each Day:
8:45 AM: Mounted riding session begins. We will ride for approximatley 2 hours.
Tailgate: Following the ride, we will have food and drinks to enjoy while we learn about the chase! Bring an item to share if you would like. This is a perfect time to ask questions and get to know our members!
🧭 How You Fit In
To participate, you should be comfortable riding at the walk, trot, and canter.
Riders will be grouped based on “fields".”
First Field- Walk, trot, canter, gallop, jump
Second Field- Walk, trot, canter
Third Field- Walk, trot
Focus will be on the skills needed to ride safely in the hunt field
Every participant will be assigned a mentor for guidance and support throughout the clinic
Attire requirements- you must have an ASTM Certified helmet and boots with a heel. Dress for the weather!
